| Concrete Countertops |
Join intrepid correspondent, Jon Helminiak, as he tours a concrete manufacturing plant that turns standard cement into trendy and beautiful countertops. See how the concrete is mixed, colored, and textured to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Sustainable principles are used in every step of the process, such as metered water consumption, organic pigments, recycled molds, and local suppliers of sand and gravel. With the added touch of recycled glass pieces and color, it is amazing how plain old gray concrete is converted into vibrant countertops which are sure to be a conversation piece in any home!

| Denim Insulation |
Jon takes us to Chandler, AZ to see how recycled denim blue jeans are turned into wall insulation. Not only is “Ultra Touch” earth-friendly by keeping cotton scraps out of the land-fills, it is also a great insulator, easy to work with and non-toxic. The manufacturer also recycles socks, t-shirts and towels which are converted into such things as dishwasher insulation, carpet padding, prison mattresses and coffin beds….
